Abstract

The scenario of population displacement, for work reasons, has been a subject of discussion in Brazilian literature, but when it comes to those who are practicing this type of pendular mobility it has still been little recurring. Therefore, the intention is to understand the profile and characteristics of commuting mobility, specifically, among the fifteen municipalities that make up the MRF, due to work in 2010. Since this area is characterized as the main one in Ceará. For this, the logistic regression model is applied to assess the individual's chance of making such a flow. Having data on displacement from the 2010 Demographic Census, as the main source of information. The results show that there is a greater chance of men aged between 20 and 44 years old, brown in color, with complete high school to higher education level and with incomes above three minimum wages, to perform pendular mobility between the municipalities of the MRF. This is because Fortaleza centralizes investments, making it attractive in terms of people. In addition, Caucaia and Maracanaú are known as other centers that are dynamized in this area, Caucaia with the presence of housing estates and Maracanaú with the presence of the industrial complex. In addition to this influence, the geographical approach encourages displacement between these municipalities on the periphery with the capital Fortaleza.
