Abstract

This paper purpose is to carry out a literature review on sourcing management in services operation, including Brazilian and international publications. The search was held in three different bases: Emerald, CAPES and BDTD (Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações). There was no restriction on publication date and it allowed the researchers to have a wide range of results and they also could analyze the concept evolution through the years. The sintoptic review was organized in five themes: vertical integration decision, sourcing models, sourcing management processes, relationship management and governance mechanisms. The research results show that strategic importance of sourcing management is increasing in managers agenda, as a source of competitive advantage, although it's still a low maturity process in most cases. Researchers also realized that managers understand that sourcing management and operational performance are strong linked. Nonetheless, there are gaps related to decision frameworks maturity and project decisions (organizational structure, processes, relationship structures, governance mechanisms, for example) that enables sourcing management models' sustentation.
