Health is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Brazilian Constitution, and it is a responsibility shared by the State, companies, and society. In Brazil, the third sector has played a crucial role in expanding access to healthcare, especially for vulnerable populations. The Peter Pan Association (Associação Peter Pan – APP) has been a key agent of transformation in pediatric cancer care in the state of Ceará. This article uses the Single Case Study method to analyze APP’s practices in supporting children with cancer in Ceará between 2020 and 2024. The research addresses four main areas: Health Promotion, Prevention and Education, Coping with Curative Treatment, and End-of-Life/Palliative Care. The analysis focused on the benefits provided by the NGO in areas such as nutritional support, psychological care, training courses, and palliative care. Between 2020 and 2024, APP maintained its activities even during the pandemic. Notable initiatives include the annual distribution of over 9,000 nutritional baskets, the expansion of the nutrition outpatient clinic, the implementation of the online course "Saving Lives," and increased psychological and psychiatric support, reflecting a greater focus on mental health. Social integration activities expanded, and end-of-life support grew through initiatives such as the "Fulfilling Dreams" project and support for grieving mothers. APP has been essential in supporting children with cancer in Ceará. Its actions, including nutritional support, education, psychological care, and end-of-life assistance, have positively impacted patients. The organization reinforces the importance of the third sector in public health, with initiatives that strengthen pediatric cancer care in Brazil.
