In the context of combating violence since 2001, the SUS has promoted actions and strategies to combat violence through the National Policy for Reducing Morbidity and Mortality from Accidents and Violence. This article aims to map and characterize the epidemiological profile of violence against children and young people on the north coast of the state of São Paulo, which includes the municipalities of: Ubatuba, Caraguatatuba, São Sebastião, and Ilhabela, from 2018 to 2022. Understanding a territory comprises divergences, and it is necessary to think about its development. Therefore, recognizing the epidemiological profile of violence in the child and adolescent population provides information that can support local health services in tackling violence, by strengthening or promoting local public policies. This article is an exploratory and documentary study, as it aims to collect epidemiological data on reports of violence against children and adolescents. Data shows that the municipality of Caraguatatuba has the highest number of recorded cases of violence against children and adolescents and that the Brazilian panorama of a higher incidence of violence against women is also identified on the North Coast of the state of São Paulo. It is concluded that this research, by providing an overview of the violence notification forms, using data from DATASUS, reveals the fragility of the technical knowledge of those who fill them out, making clear the need for something that goes beyond training, such as a systematic and continuous dialog in the praxis of the professionals involved.
