Abstract

The study analyzed the main challenges faced in managing environmental projects involving biotic groups in areas affected by large enterprises in the Amazon region. Data were collected through an electronic questionnaire applied to 16 environmental project managers, with predominantly 10 to 15 years of experience in the region. The results reveal that logistics is the biggest obstacle, followed by the difficulty in finding qualified professionals willing to work in the Amazon region, with financial dissatisfaction being one of the main causes. Thus, on-site technical and logistical leadership with experience in the region, a preliminary schedule adjusted to local realities, the retention of experienced field professionals, and a good working environment were identified as key strategies to mitigate the challenges of environmental projects in the Amazon region.
